● BOLIVIA: A Franciscan monastery in Cochabamba has adopted a stray Miniature Schnauzer from rescue organisation Proyecto Narices Frias (Cold Noses Project), as their mascot. Carmelo, whose holy name Friar Bigoton means ‘Brother Moustache’, wears his own tiny habit and takes his religious duties — preaching to the fish, patrolling the grounds, and keeping his robe neat and tidy — very seriously.
