ABOUT BRUCE

Bruce Fogle MBE was born in Canada and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College, before moving to London and, in 1973, setting up his own practice, the London Veterinary Clinic. He is still practising, has published books in over 35 languages, and is co-founder and vice-chair of the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, and chair of the charity Humane Society International. He is married to the actor Julia Foster.

QTell us about your first dog.

“Angus McTavish McFogle was a Scottie. My dad was born in Glasgow and moved to Canada in 1908 when he was two years old. Angus was a living memory of my dad’s origins, which is also why my brother is called Robert and I’m Bruce.”
