QI’m hearing that a lot of people are having problems getting vet appointments. For example, my friend contacted her local practice in August but couldn’t get her puppy booked in for vaccination until November!
And another friend wanted to get her dog neutered but had to book him in at a practice 45 minutes away as she couldn’t get him booked in anywhere nearer. The receptionist said it was a shortage of vets. She said a lot of the vets were foreign, many went home during the coronavirus pandemic, and now, as a consequence of Brexit, the way they are taxed has changed so they’re just not coming back! Is there any truth in this and, if so, is there anything we can do about it?
