WHAT IS HAND-STRIPPING?
Hand-stripping is the removal of dead top coat and undercoat by hand, without the use of trimming equipment — clippers, scissors, or thinning scissors — on the main part of the dog. The more delicate/sensitive areas, such as the undercarriage and around the anal area, can be trimmed. The purpose of hand-stripping is to maintain the colour and texture of the coat in wire-coated breeds such as the Border Terrier.
