DOG’S PLAYTIME PROBLEMS
Not all dogs enjoy rough play.
QMy dog is a large, two-year-old black Labrador, who loves to play with other dogs. The problem is that he plays quite roughly, and while that may be OK with dogs of a similar size and temperament, it often isn’t with small, elderly, or timid dogs.
I try to pre-empt any problems by putting him on a lead if I see such dogs approaching, but it isn’t always possible, and he does get very frustrated, lunging and jumping around, which makes the oncoming dog even more anxious.
