We created our own coastal-inspired haven

Lotte and her partner Jonathan turned their dated house into a glamorous city pad
By positioning their painted dining furniture in the bay window, Lotte and Jonathan have created a light-filled spot where they can enjoy views of the garden. The table is from Ikea and the chairs were found in a reclamation yard

Good idea!

Painting an old dining table and mismatched seating the same shade creates a cohesive look. ‘We bought them very cheaply but they look great,’ says Lotte.

A piece of artwork by Lotte’s mother creates a focal point on the wall. The sofas and Stocksund foot stool are both from Ikea and the geometric pendant was found in a House of Fraser sale

Step inside Lotte Brouwer and Jonathan Williams’ London home, with its restful blue and white colour scheme and glamorous flashes of gold and marble, and you’d be forgiven for thinking you were in a chic American apartment.

About Your Home Magazine

I don’t know about you, but I always feel like we’ve turned a corner in April. The clocks have gone forward, so we’ve got longer, lighter days; the weather is getting warmer, so we can fling open the windows and let the fresh air in and the garden is bursting with colourful flowers beckoning us outside. And not forgetting, it’s Easter this month, which means we get a lovely long bank holiday weekend to look forward to (which is perfect for getting stuck into a spot of decorating)! So with all this on the horizon we’ve filled this issue with lots of exciting spring features. It’s time to ditch those furry throws and heavy winter curtains and lighten up your home’s look for the months ahead. On page 36 we take a look at the latest fabric trends and show how you can use them to give your home the ‘wow’ factor. While on page 42 we discover lots of great new products to take away your wash day blues. If you haven’t already noticed, green is the big colour trend for this year, so on page 20 we show how to give your home a gorgeous leafy green makeover with purse-friendly accessories. To celebrate Easter our Craft Editor, Sophie, has designed some adorable projects to brighten up your home – you’re going to love the cute little lambs (p.60)! And make sure you check out our quick and easy recipes on page 100, perfect for making your Easter family gettogether really special. Have a great month and a very happy Easter!
