Suzy and Andy Tookey’s master bedroom could hardly have been described as the ideal relaxing haven, when they first moved into their four-bedroom, semi-detached in Croydon, with children, Cian, Finley and Cillian. So, it’s no surprise to learn, that it was high on Suzy’s agenda when it came to updating their home. ‘The tired fitted wardrobes, nasty nylon carpet and grubby wallpaper just had to go,’ recalls Suzy. ‘And my plan was to take advantage of the current trend for a relaxed modern-vintage mix as, not only was there plenty of inspiration on the high street, but I thought it would be a good excuse to try a little upcycling.’
