On first inspection, Wendy Dove and partner, Richard, might have been forgiven for thinking their master bedroom required nothing more than a quick revamp. However, having moved into their 1930s semi, in West Wickham, with children, Harrison and Poppy, it immediately became apparent that what was needed was a complete update. ‘It took a year to complete the rather complicated sale,’ says Wendy. ‘And although we knew the house required work, I think my memory of our tired bedroom had become rose-tinted over time as, while it was still a great size, I’d conveniently forgotten all about the dodgy electrics, lack of a radiator and gloss painted walls!’
To ensure a neat finish, Wendy marked out the bold blue painted wall panel using masking tape – which now provides a dramatic backdrop to the couple’s generous bank of customised drawers
