When Juliet Trimby, 49, moved into her 1930s terrace in South London with children, India and Oliver, it was in desperate need of updating and high on her list of priorities was the compact family bathroom. ‘The room containing the bath and basin was simply too small for our needs as there was no space for a standalone shower, and we all hated the adjoining separate WC,’ she explains. The solution, however, proved simple – take out the offending dividing wall, plus a redundant cupboard, in order to create one large room.
