England fans might recall, albeit painfully, when during the Three Lions’ penalty shootout against Portugal, Ricardo – due to take the next spot kick – took off his gloves as he prepared to face Darius Vassell. The move unsettled his opponent and he saved Vassell’s effort with his bare hands, before scoring to seal the win.
