LEIGH EXTEND THEIR DOMINANCE
FEATHERSTONE ROVERS 16
LEIGH CENTURIONS 46

FEATHERSTONE ROVERS coach Brian McDermott had a simple message after this game:
“We can beat Leigh”.
But on this evidence, it will take a monumental turnaround for them to do so in the play-offs.
The fourth instalment of this titanic rivalry was the most one-sided yet, and only confirmed the evidence of the previous two that Leigh Centurions are several steps ahead of their promotion rivals.
With each new addition to their squad this year, Leigh have become more powerful and more skilful, and it is clear Featherstone have lost the arms race between the two clubs over this season.
But this Centurions squad is more than a team of relative, and in some cases literal, superstars. Adrian Lam has pulled them together into a closeknit squad and a cohesive unit, which is no small achievement and one for which the coach deserves plenty of credit.
