Welland Valley Art Society Philip Dawson
Lax Hill, Rutland Water, mixed media, 221⁄2x251⁄2in. (57x64.5cm). Philip’s background as a graphic designer is put to good use by the society when it comes to designing exhibition posters and invitation cards ahead of its two exhibitions each year. His energetic painting of nearby Rutland Water was a clear favourite with visitors to the Welland Valley Art Society’s spring exhibition. The society draws its members from Rutland, south Lincolnshire and north Cambridgeshire and organises regular painting and drawing workshops in the studio above the Arts Centre Gallery.
