THINGS TO DO THIS MONTH

OPEN STUDIOS

Niddart Trail 2022

The Niddart Trail welcomes visitors to its free event, from 19 to 29 August, in celebration of the work of artists, craftspeople and makers of Nidderdale and the surrounding areas. This year there is a voluntary theme of Celebration, and visitors can expect an uplifting display of the area’s talent as well as demonstrations taking place in some venues. Work will also be available to view online at www.niddart.org.uk

Worcestershire Open Studios

The Worcestershire Open Studios event returns this summer, with a ten-day event, from 20 to 29 August, with artists and makers across the county opening the doors to their homes and studios. One-hundredand-eight artists are taking part across 91 venues, featuring a diverse range of artwork including painting, sculpture, printmaking, jewellery, ceramics, photography, textiles, furniture making, and more. Printed guides, which can be downloaded from the website, allow you to plan your day out exploring the beautiful county and discovering the artists in their creative environments. The event was founded in 2015 and is run by a team of organisers, Sally Morgan, Richard Nicholls and Gillian Simpson (above), who are all artists.
