Living Blues  |  Living Blues #238
Living Blues #238 (August/September 2015) features Chicago blues legend Eddy Clearwater on the cover in his first interview with LB in nearly 15 years. The bulk of our issue though is devoted to our tribute to B.B. King. Living Blues covered King for 45 years, from the explosion of his national popularity in 1970 with the release of The Thrill is Gone through his reign as the cultural ambassador of the blues worldwide. B.B. King Through the Pages of Living Blues traces the journey of the King of the Blues as covered by the magazine. There is also a decade-by-decade overview of King’s albums and a tribute/obituary from David Whiteis. The 2015 Living Blues Awards winners are announced on page 94. This issue also includes an excerpt from an interview with Chicago sax player Red Holloway from a forthcoming collection of interviews from Blues Unlimited, Breaking Out with vocalist Jerry Lawson, LB talks to Dave and Phil Alvin, over 50 record reviews and the latest Living Blues radio charts.
