Have dinner in a Victorian clock tower in London

Clocking in for dinner

Usually a trip to London’s St Pancras means you’re en route somewhere else – but the only journey you’ll make on this visit is a culinary one. Chef Martín Milesi’s pop-up dining experience takes place inside the Victorian station’s majestic clock tower, where he serves seven creative courses inspired by the favours of his native Argentina. Stand-out dishes might include slow-cooked pork with guacamole, or beef and blue potatoes with chimichurri washed down with a fne glass of Malbec. The 12 guests eat together with Martín around a single table, so you’ll be mingling with other excitable gastronomes, taking it in turns to climb the super-steep staircase that ascends the 10m height of the dining room, or gathering in the kitchen to peer through a window at the St Pancras clock, its moon-like face beaming in a dusky sky. A particular pleasure is to spy on the commuters rushing for their trains far below, while you sip a cocktail at leisure. Martin’s St Pancras series has a short run, lasting just one month, but more dinners are planned via his company UNA, a project that promises future one-table, communal dining in unusual locations across London.
