A pair of new live recordings of Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac from 1968 and 1970 have been discovered and are set for release in June. The 180g vinyl versions of Before The Beginning Volume One (1968) and Volume 2 (1970) include previously unreleased demos. Both vinyl releases are on triple heavyweight discs. Volume One contains early incarnations of some of the band’s most loved songs, including Madison Blues and I Need Your Love So Bad from the Blues era and Long Tall Sally and Willie And The Hand Jive from the Rock ‘n’ Roll College of Music.
Volume Two features demos and rarities of classic tracks including Oh Well, Green Manalishi and the band’s first UK number one Albatross. Little is known about the origin of the recordings, with the tapes having been untouched for 40 years. Discovered unlabelled and by pure luck in the US, their era has been authenticated by experts and Fleetwood Mac have given their full approval for the release.
