JASON ISBELL
You’re reissuing your self-titled 2009 album and Here We Rest (2011). Why these two and why now?
“Well, really, because I own the masters to them! We weren’t working withDave Cobb in those days, so I thought, I’d love to hear what he could do withthese albums. The songs are still gonna sound like the songs, and honestly, there’s not a whole lot of difference, it really just sounds better. It’s not the kind of thing where we made a dance mix…although that would’ve been fun! Our primary goal was really just to make the best examples of the studio recordings that we could.”
