How to Celebrate Valentine’s Day Without a Valentine

Posted 08 February 2018   |   442 views   |   Women's Interest   |   Comments (0) It’s been hitting you in the face since the 1st of February, from the red and pink hues occupying every storefront window, to the heart-shaped boxes of chocolate taking over your local supermarket, there is simply no escaping the mushy romantic vibes of Valentine’s Day.

So maybe you don’t have that “special someone” to frolic with, but you do have two choices: you can either choose to mope around feeling like the last single soul, or you can take the bull by the horns and make the very best out of your Valentine’s Day, without having a Valentine!

To give you the motivation and inspiration you so desire during times like these, please refer to the following full-proof plans on how to celebrate Valentine’s Day without a Valentine:

No Valentine? No problem. Who needs just one significant other when you’ve got your whole crew of gals/lads. Grab your closest gals or closest lads and celebrate Valentine’s Day in familiar and fun company. Whether you stay in to watch cheesy chick flicks whilst guzzling down bottles of wine (for the gals) or you hit up the local pub for a few pints (give or take) with your lads, celebrate Valentine’s Day with your true soulmates

Club Events

Shake it off and let loose for the night, who knows, you may even seek out a special Valentine for more than just the evening! There will be plenty of themed club events happening around Valentine’s Day, so keep your eye out for those “anti-Valentine’s Day specials” or extended happy hours. Hitting up a club or bar on the 14th will be a healthy reminder that you’re not alone in the game of love.

Treat Yourself

Lucky for you, you don’t have that added stress of having to splurge on a special gift for your Valentine. With all that extra cash in your pocket, it would only be fair to treat yourself. You know YOU better than anyone else, so why not take yourself out for a little shopping spree? Splurge on that pair of trainers you’ve had your eyes on for months or maybe that gorgeous handbag you’ve only been able to dream about. Or get even more for your money by treating yourself to a digital version of your favourite magazine and enjoy it all year round!

Host a Party

It doesn’t matter if your network of friends is a healthy mix of couples and singles, everyone is always up for a good ol’ house party, especially if it lands on a day, like Valentine’s Day, where no one can decide what to do. Intimate dinner with close friends or a proper full-on bash, people will appreciate and enjoy a fun social gathering.

Family Time

There’s nothing like a little quality family time to make you feel extra loved. You can always count on family, even if it involves a simple dinner or a night of bonding with board games, let’s face it, at its heart Valentine’s Day is about being with the ones you love the most - now go and enjoy it...
