Using only the simple chain and double crochet stitch, the simplicity of this fun zigzag blanket means it’s an easy project to dip in and out of at your leisure. The process is speedy but the result is definitely still special! It is the ideal size for a baby blanket, but if you decide to keep on going you could make a lovely full-size throw for your home.
You'll need:
· Yarn, 12 x 50g (84m) balls Debbie Bliss Cotton DK, four in shade Marine (A), four in shade Aqua (B), four in shade White (C), from sconch.com
· Hook, 4mm
· Tapestry needle
Dimensions:
64cm x 78cm
Stripe sequence:
1. Work in the following four-row stripe sequence six times, ending with yarn A: yarn A, yarn B, yarn C.
2. Using 4mm hook and yarn A make 189ch.
3. Row 1: 2dc in second ch from hook, *4dc, miss two sts, 4dc, 3ch in next st, rep from * to end (finishing with a 2dc only in last st), turn. 188 sts.
4. Row 2: 1ch, 2dc in first st, * 4dc, miss two sts, 4dc, 3dc in next st, rep from * to end (finishing with a 2dc only in last st), miss turn st, turn.
5. Rep Row 2 until blanket measures 64cm.
6. Cut yarn and fasten off. Sew in ends.
