Human muscle has an innate, natural ability to fight the damaging effects of inflammation – even without the additional help of good nutrition or anti-inflammatory drugs.1Excessive inflammation can contribute to arthritis and muscle wastage, but it seems that exercising your muscles can help to combat the problem.
“We discovered that the muscle cells were capable of taking anti-inflammatory actions all on their own,” said Nenad Bursac, professor of biomedical engineering at Duke University.
