Why use 10 words when 100 will do? If you read my column last month, you’ll have seen me use a Shakespearian reference and my full 500-word allocation to make a point I could have made as simply as this: I’ve picked up an injury and it’s stopped me running. Looking back, I was probably trying to distract myself from the awfulness of it all. Something that I used to do four times a week, that gave me great enjoyment and satisfaction, had been taken away. I was grieving a little bit.
