Bethan Cumber explains how she shaped the Future Mental Health Nursing conference

Having decided to seize every opportunity at university during my undergraduate degree in psychology, I was keen to adopt the same approach during my nursing training.

I was excited when the opportunity arose to be involved in the organisation of the Future Mental Health Nursing conference, and applied to be chair of the organising committee.

Future Mental Health Nursing is an annual conference hosted in cities across the UK, and it provides an opportunity for hundreds of mental health nursing students to congregate and hear from inspirational speakers.

Celebrating our profession

I feel that it is important to celebrate our unique career choice, especially during difficult times and increasing pressures on our NHS.
