Dynamo Models

An in-depth look at some of the latest releases in the hobby

SCALE: 1/35

Dynamo Models is a French company specialising in high-quality resin and 3D-printed figures and accessories, predominantly of World War II subjects. They are among the lines brought into the UK by Dave Howell of Tyrell Models. Dynamo Models have also just released their first plastic kit, the U.S. M55 Quad Mount Machine Guns 2in1 (ref. 35DM001). The M55 mounted four .50cal Browning machine guns and as well as being mounted on the M16 halftrack, it was also deployed in the towed configuration shown here. The kit allows you to build either a World War II or Vietnam War gun. The kit is stunning: it includes four grey plastic sprues (one of a gunner), a small sheet of photoetch and a profusion of exquisitely rendered 3D-printed parts. The latter includes ammunition cases, later M2HB gun barrels, .50cal breeches, and larger motor (I presume for turning and elevating the guns) of the Vietnam version. Decals, including some colourful ‘nose art’, are included for four guns. This is a superb little kit that will build up into a great replica. The 3D-printed parts are particularly well done and certainly add to the level of detail and finesse overhaul.
