PARTING SHOT

MARCH 28, 1976 LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA

Clay Regazzoni (Ferrari 312T) leads Patrick Depailler (Tyrrell 007), James Hunt (McLaren M23), Niki Lauda (312T), Tom Pryce (Shadow DN5B) and Ronnie Peterson (March 761) at the start. Depailler and Hunt soon tangled, the Englishman retiring. While strolling back to the pits, he kept walking onto the track to shake his fist at Depailler… Regazzoni went on to take his only win of the season, ahead of Lauda.
