AUCTION PICKS
From dark to the spotlight
Simon de Burton reports on the rarest Koenigsegg of them all, and the Queen’s Jag
2007 KOENIGSEGG CCGT
SOLD BY BONHAMS, £3.3M
The
cost-of-living
crisis
clearly
hadn’t
affected
the
buyer
of
this
unique
Koenigsegg.
It
was
developed
between
2003-07
with
the
aim
of
taking
the
Swedish
brand
to
Le
Mans
–
then
the
homologation
rules
changed,
and
that
was
that.
The
car
was
sold
to
Bård
Eker,
the
offshore
powerboat
champion
and
marine
engineering
tycoon,
who
was
then
Koenigsegg’s
major
shareholder.
It
had
been
kept,
according
to
Bonhams,
in
temperature-controlled,
dry
and
dark
conditions
and
given
twice-yearly
engine
maintenance
runs.
Sold
in
practically
new
condition,
it
was
even
fitted
with
its
original
slicks.
