In case you missed it…


I t’s the start of a fresh new year and in our pristine new calendars, NAMM towers over January like the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. As we prepare our schedules, book our flights and hotels, the conversation naturally turns to, well… just what can we expect to be unveiled this year?

The rumour mill has been surprisingly quiet thus far, though we do know of a few shiny new products that will be making an appearance, as well as some potential gear that might materialise based on conversations we’ve had throughout 2018. Last year’s show was a phenomenally good one for music technology, with a brand-spanking-new hall being something of a wonderland for our team. Synths, keyboards, monitors and microphones appeared at every turn, as well as an increasing number of large computer screens showing off the latest from the world of software. It was refreshing to see, particularly as we could avoid the volume of the deafening guitar and drum halls.
