Offering plenty of connectivity, the ES-8 is a real-world audio interface

Although Eurorack, as a format, is classed as modular, the one factor that often has users scratching their heads is why they can’t simply plug external audio devices straight into their signal chain and expect them to work. I discovered this quite early on, as I tried to connect my iPhone right into the heart of my modular in order to use a sample, and immediately found that I didn’t have enough signal to work with. Worse still, the signal seemed to degrade. So the concept of an audio interface, which you can use to plug your choice of USB-type device straight into the heart of your Eurorack, is both interesting and quite probably very useful. But knowing Expert Sleepers, there may well be more to it than that, so let’s take look.
