My mother is Mary Berry. Well, to me she is. She’s the woman solely responsible for my ability, passion and sometimes foolhardy ambition when I bake. In my childhood memories, she’s permanently enrobed in a gingham tabard and there was nothing this woman couldn’t make, bake or generally concoct in her kitchen.
