When we take photos, much of the time it is light that we are chiefly working with. Of course other factors count too, but if there’s no light, there’s no photo, for it’s light that we are actually capturing. If we can learn to master the light and use it to guide our compositions – and even our editing – then our chances of success will be so much greater.
