The Cover Story is a tribute to filmmaker/playwright Anthony Minghella, marking the 10th anniversary of his death to celebrate his life and work. Minghella’s legacy includes movies such as “Truly Madly Deeply”, “The English Patient”, and “The Talented Mr. Ripley”, and an opera still in repertoire in London and New York “Madama Butterfly”. Unique eulogies are by Minghella’s family, closest friends, and collaborators—including, Gioia Minghella-Giddens (Isle of Wight High Sheriff), Walter Murch (Oscar-winning filmmaker), Amanda Nevill (CEO of the BFI), Michael Ondaatje (author), and Jude Law (Award-winning actor). This singular portrait includes photographs by Brigitte Lacombe. Centrefold is by British Kolkata-born artist Tanya Ling. Menu is courtesy of Ashley Palmer-Watts, with wines paired by Stefan Neumann—respectively, Chef Director and Head Sommelier at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, London. In “Higher and Higher” biographer and journalist, Andy Marino, looks at the status of Universities. In “Designing Freedom” climate change tracker and environmentalist Nick Breeze gives a personal overview of the UN’s Conference of the Parities initiative (COPs) and argues for a drastic change in the way we think about the present and future welfare of the planet. In “Leandro Erlich: Less is Mori” art critic Adrian Dannatt introduces us to the Argentinian artist, exploring his major retrospective in Tokyo, Japan where Erlich is hailed as the greatest living artist. Brazilian urban/street artist Pri Mastro is interviewed by fellow Paulista Loredana Oliveira. The exclusive In Conversation reveals Mastro’s Dancing “Figuras” of São Paulo, Brazil. Plus new work by acclaimed artists and photographers—including, Enda Bowe from Ireland, Tom Burr from the US, and Brits Jeremy Glogan, and Adam McEwen’s back over artwork “Untitled (Nicole)”, which focuses on Nicole Kidman, star of “Cold Mountain”. And much more…

Yes & No is a new quarterly magazine that embraces today’s new realites, holding up a cultural mirror to reflect the eclectic yet fragile world while rigorously asking: What? How? Why? Where?

YES & NO represents a defiant movement against the certainties that increasingly divide us. Contained within its beautifully designed pages — in digital and print — it speaks to like-minded people who are increasingly dismayed by the stark choices that have defined the political landscape in recent years. The content-rich quarterly magazine is made for people who believe in a more fluid, creative approach — for people who see value in exploring life from all angles and who embrace a multiple range of solutions to the task of navigating the modern world. YES & NO is tolerant, exploratory, curious and promotes a stimulating mixture of science, art and culture for our times. It is designed to raise questions than to provide answers. It’s a companion for the modern world — a manifesto for anyone who embraces life’s complexities rather than confining it within the parameters of either yes or no
