Monsters and horror have a long history in the trading card world. Over the decades, there have been dozens of mainstream sets that showcase famous franchises, classic monsters and even some original creations. The 1980s and ‘90s saw horror go in a couple of diff erent directions. While spooky thrills were always a foundation, getting there took a few diff erent routes. Some used humor while others took blood and gore to new levels. Both of these approaches are refl ected in horror card sets from the 1980s and ‘90s. No matter the direction, these ten sets fi nd varying levels of greatness within the horror genre.
