Youths charged with break-in

FIVE youths have been charged with breaking into Oban’s Rockport Hotel, formerly the Woodside Hotel, known locally as ‘the Woody’. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ‘Sometime between Monday April 23 and Tuesday May 1, The Rockport Hotel, Tweeddale Street, Oban, was broken into and damaged, and alcohol stolen. ‘Police enquiries have resulted in five local youths being charged with the offences. ‘A report is likely to be submitted to the Reporter to the Children’s Panel.’ The hotel has been unoccupied since last September when it was put up for sale.
