Egg gangs ‘will not be tolerated’

MASKED groups of youths throwing eggs at windows are terrorising people in their homes, according to local police.

Community officer Andrew Simpson reported to Oban Community Council on October 31 that there have been many incidents over previous weeks of masked teenagers throwing eggs at house windows, including in Pulpit Hill, Glencruitten Road, and St Valery Place.

‘It has been youths hanging around in masks,’ PC Simpson reported. ‘It seems to happen at this time of year. They think they are in disguise.’ He added the attacks seemed ‘random’, and ‘not specifically targeted’.
