The Lorne – top food spot in the heart of Oban

For those of you that enjoy great pub grub, in relaxed surroundings, you are probably now familiar with the exceptional ‘feast for a fiver’ menu at The Lorne in Oban, which is now available from 12 noon until 9pm. It has proven to be very popular with both locals and visitors due to the fantastic quality of food (and portion size) at what seems like a ‘too good to be true’ offer. There are no short cuts, no gimmicks, just really good home-cooked food. The feast for a fiver menu sits alongside an extensive a la carte menu, offering a huge choice of quality, freshly prepared food – including locally caught fish and seafood straight from the pier in Oban. If you love fresh seafood, try the Lorne Platter; a delicious combo of Isle of Mull scallops, fillet of sea bass, local mussels, smoked salmon and mackerel pate served with bread and butter, all for just £19.95. The tantalising menu includes succulent Highland chicken, juicy steaks, gourmet burgers and the tempting steak and Guinness pie to name just a few of the pub favourites. First class food is compli mented by a great range of beers and wines and an extensive Gin and Whisky menu, all served up with a lovely warm welcome from attentive staff.
