Angling competition nets charity haul

THE ANNUAL Inverawe angling competition raised more money than ever for charity.

A total of 17 competitors, mainly from Argyll but with others from as far away as Jedburgh and Stirling, took part on the Hydro and Inverawe lochs.

Lochgilphead anglers have always been to the fore in the event, but this year the honours went back to Oban with Brian Todd winning the Inverawe Fisheries Shield with the heaviest bag of 17lbs 3ozs, followed by Allan Hendry of Inveraray with 16lbs 3ozs and Dugald MacGilp of Lochgilphead with 15lbs 10ozs.
