DALMALLY – United Auctions on Saturday May 6 held its annual May sale at Dalmally Auction Mart.

A catalogued entry of 447 cattle and 238 sheep sold to a packed ringside of buyers from throughout the country. Bullocks sold to average £825.10 per head or 271.62 pence per kilo against £802.77 or 250.93 pence per kilo at the corresponding sale last year. Heifers sold to average £757.16 per head or 252.02 pence per kilo against £689.08 per head or 229.31 pence per kilo last year. Bullocks sold £1,070 per head from Achnacreebeag and 329.3 per kilo from Knockderry. Heifers sold to £990 from Craig Farm while Kilvaree led the kilo prices in this section at 342.9 pence. Breeding cattle from Balantyre sold to £1070.

Blackface hoggets from Woodside Croft, Mull sold to £70. Ewes with lamb at foot sold to £74 from Alavahl. Principal lots and prices. Top prices per head.
