Man jailed for possessing pepper spray

A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been sentenced to six months in jail after police found pepper spray in his possession.

David O’Hara appeared from custody at Fort William Sheriff Court last Friday (January 6) and pled guilty to a possession of weapons charge.

The court heard that two police officers on patrol had their suspicions raised when they saw O’Hara standing in a shop doorway on Fort William High Street on November 21, 2015. He was initially searched by the officers for drugs and then admitted to having a small quantity of ‘weed’.
