Man who assaulted fiancée walks free from court

A 42-YEAR-OLD man who assaulted his fiancée after a night out has walked from court unpunished.

George MacPhee from Wallace Place admitted seizing the woman and pushing her against a wall in Fort William High Street on October 17 last year.

MacPhee pled guilty to the offence on January 4 in Fort William Sheriff Court where it was heard he, his fiancée and several others had become involved in an altercation near the taxi rank around 1am, shortly after they had left a pub.
