Fèis Ìle

THE ISLAND’S population will almost treble when supporters come from near and far for Fèis Ìle 2016, the annual festival of music and malt, which runs from Friday May 20 to 29.

All the island’s distilleries, as well as the one on the neighbouring isle of Jura, will play an integral part in the festival, which is now in its 36th year.

On the opening Friday, the clootie dumpling ceilidh, an annual favourite, will take place in the Rhinns Hall at Portna haven where fiddler Simon Moran and local artistes will provide the music.
