POPULAR tourist spots in the Highlands could benefit from a new fund to improve infrastructure and growth in rural tourism.
The Scottish Government is to set up the Rural Tourism Infrastructure Fund, which will see £6 million invested over two years. This is in an attempt to guarantee services needed by tourists and communities are provided and ensure the sustainable growth of the industry in Scotland.
The new fund will support a wide range of improvement projects including parking, camping, recycling points and footpath access.
