Festive Bowmore

FATHER CHRISTMAS made an early appearance on the island this year when he arrived in Bowmore on December 3 to officially switch on the village’s Christmas lights.

Being from cooler climes, the seasonal visitor appeared unfazed by wind and steady rain, which also seemed to have little effect on the large number of spectators in attendance in Morrison Square.

Equally undaunted by the elements were the Ella Edgar dancers, who provided the entertainment for the switch-on, along with Bowmore Primary School Gaelic choir, led by Alison Gray and the high school pipers.
