Attacker warned he is facing jail term

A MAN is facing a prison sentence after an assault in Oban which left his victim unconscious and disfigured.

Garry McIvor, 31, of 4 Ulva Road, Oban, pleaded guilty to head-butting the man on August 22, causing him to fall to the ground, and then kicking him on the head to his unconsciousness and severe injury and permanent disfigurement.

Procurator fiscal Eoin McGinty told Oban Sheriff Court that on December 6 the incident occurred after the complainer and his friend had left a local bar.
