Glasgow ‘greetings’ for a Highland gent

GLASGOW has for many years been renowned for the great welcome and kindness of its people.

The slogan ‘People Make Glasgow’ seems to be emblazoned on every mode of public transport, every public building, and every bus-stop advertising board from Pollokshaws to Partick.

The famous Glaswegian charm was in evidence a couple of weeks ago when a highlander, who shall remain nameless, made the trip down to the city to come to our Tide Lines show in the art school.

This gentleman had left his car in a multi-storey car park and was given a token with which he had to pay on return.

After the gig, fairly late at night, he and his family walked back to the car park and quickly found out that teuchters and state-of-the-art, modern car parking technology should not really mix.
