OBAN Saints’ senior team were due to travel to play Inverclyde in a premier division league match last Saturday but, after an 8.30pm pitch inspection, the playing surface at Rankin Park was deemed unplayable and the game had to be called off.
This was a pity as Saints have no game for the next two weeks. The Oban side asked for a free Saturday this weekend so their players can go and watch Oban Camanachd in the Camanachd Cup final and the following Saturday is the September weekend holiday break when no fixtures are allocated.
