Fishermen to the fore in latest campaign

THE FISHERMEN’S Mission, a well-known national charity with a strong presence in Lochaber, has launched a campaign to highlight the number of fishermen lost at sea in the last decade.

The 100 in 10 Campaign hopes to raise awareness of the dangers of being a fisherman and the devastating impact on families and communities when fishermen are lost at sea - 100 fishermen have been lost in just 10 years.

The charity is asking people to buy a pair of yellow fishermen’s wellies featuring the mission logo. For every pair sold, a yellow ribbon will be tied to the flagpole outside the charity’s headquarters in Hampshire.
