Pilgrims give praise for St Conan’s route

St Conan’s pilgrims on Martyrs Beach, Iona

PILGRIMS who took part in the second official St Conan’s pilgrimage from Dalmally to Iona, are spreading the word wide and far.

One of them is David Hornak from Shropshire who said: ‘I can’t stop talking about the St Conan’s Way pilgrimage to all I meet! We were made to feel like one big family and everyone was so cheerful and friendly at all times.’

The walkers who joined in the 2018 pilgrimage left Dalmally’s Craig Lodge retreat centre in April to follow the footsteps of St Conan. It took them five days to complete the 70-mile route. St Conan was part of the monastic tradition established by St Columba on Iona and in the Dalmally area.
