RBS under new attack over Argyll and Isles bank closures

THE Royal Bank of Scotland has come under renewed and sustained attack over its plans to close a number of rural branches in Argyll and the Isles.

Argyll and Bute MP Brendan O’Hara last week fired a broadside at RBS during a debate at Westminster.

In a passionate debate at Westminster on Thursday January 11, Mr O’Hara demanded the UK government use the power it has, as the bank’s majority shareholder, to halt the branch closure plans.
