Spean Bridge, Roy Bridge and Achnacarry Community Council

SPEAN Bridge, Roy Bridge and Achnacarry Community Council held its first meeting of 2018 last week. Matters arising included:

■ Bear and Transport Scotland: The chairman has sent photographs to BEAR showing the deteriorating road surfaces at the junction of the A82/A86 and in the middle of the carriageway on the A82 about 200 metres north of Spean Bridge. BEAR claims to be monitoring the situation, but the community council requested immediate repairs.

The chairman reported that on December 24, 2017, drains on the bridge in Spean Bridge overflowed, resulting in the flooding of the Woollen Mill, Spean Lodge and standing water and flooding on the bridge.
