Driver is banned for year and fined

A 44-YEAR-OLD man has been disqualified from driving for 12 months and received a £300 fine for dangerous driving. Paul Thompson, of 25 Potts Road, Motherwell, was clocked travelling at 112mph on the A82 north of Bridge of Orchy.

He appeared at Oban Sheriff Court on Wednesday October 12 and was willing to give a guilty plea to a lesser charge of careless driving. This wasn’t accepted by the crown and two constables gave evidence.
