A HIGHLAND councillor has reiterated the local authority’s support for the Gaelic language and praised the goodwill of volunteers who support the Gaelic culture across the region.
Councillor Allan Henderson, who represents Caol and Mallaig and chairs the council’s environment, development and infrastructure committee, listed Highland Council’s financial backing of the Royal National Mòd and the creation of its third Gaelic Plan as evidence of its commitment to the language.
He said: ‘The beauty is that Gaelic has now grown up in the Highlands. It is part of every single thing Highland Council does.’
